Strength And Stability

While industry life
insurance sales were down nearly 20%, Midland National achieved a
record-setting year in life insurance sales. But we're not stopping
here...we'll continue to set the bar high.

A Responsible Investment Strategy
We are committed to
responsible investing and that’s why we have been up front about our investment
strategy. Our conservative investment strategy has required that investments in
individual companies be kept at low levels, which has resulted in a diversified
portfolio.
To date, Midland National’s losses have been relatively small in comparison to
our capital and total assets. We have already taken steps to react to the
current state of affairs, and we will continue to take more steps in the future
as we continue to monitor the markets.

Values You Can Trust
Midland National’s employees are guided by a corporate culture of integrity,
openness, respect and accountability. As part of a privately held company, we
are not subject to the short term earnings pressures that publicly held
companies often face to satisfy Wall Street’s expectations.
Not only is our company privately held, but we are also made up of
employee-shareholders*, which gives us a greater sense of responsibility. We
are a company with plans to perpetuate itself for hundreds of years, not the
next quarter or fiscal year. You will not find this kind of ownership structure
or corporate culture in any other insurance company.
As you look ahead on your financial future, we want you to know that Midland
National will continue to provide strength and stability for the long term.
